Dr. Venus Seleme - Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Venus Seleme is a Board Certified Doctor in Chiropractic Medicine. She founded The Seleme Chiropractic and Wellness Center in April of 1999 where she has been healing patients in a clinical setting to “remove the interferences” that are blocking their goal of achieving perfect health. She is currently working toward obtaining her dual certification with the Board of Chiropractic Internist and Nutrition, as well as obtaining her Certification as a Chiropractic Sports Physician.
Dr. Seleme’s approach is based on her strong personal belief that “ the possibilities are endless in the healing of the body, mind and spirit” in order to overcome our health problems. There should be no limit on how we can achieve perfect health. Her style of healing takes into account how each and every one of us is structurally, biochemically as well as energetically different. She utilizes different adjusting techniques to address structural components of health, including visceral manipulation and cranial sacral therapy. Her nutritional focus is diverse as well, so that she can address the biochemical individuality of her patients’ specific needs.. Dr. Seleme does recognize that there is emotional energy that penetrates and affects the human organisms health as well, and utilizes Neuroemotional Technique (NET) and the REBA Test Device to remove the intereferences that may be contributing to symptoms in the overall wellbeing of her patients health. Dr. Angela C. Darling is a Board Certified Doctor in Chiropractic Medicine in both Virginia and Georgia. She joined The Seleme Chiropractic and Wellness Center in January of 2010 after relocating to northern Virginia. She is excited about beginning her practice alongside Dr. Venus Seleme, as she shares the same goal of assisting each patient with attaining perfect health, as well as the philosophies about how to achieve this level of healing. Dr. Darling understands the link between a person’s physical health and their spiritual and emotional well-being.
She attained the rank of Captain while serving as an Army Social Work Officer at Ft. Hood, Texas. She later worked as a civilian Social Worker for the Department of the Navy in New Orleans, Louisiana, specializing in helping families affected by domestic violence. Dr. Darling also worked for the Georgia Department of Human Services as a Social Services Specialist in the Foster Care program, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs as a Readjustment Counselor for combat veterans and their families. Dr. Darling graduated with her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Chiropractic College of Life University in Marietta, Georgia in 2003. While working in the Outpatient Clinic at Life University, she specialized in Activator Methods Technique (a low-force instrument used for adjusting the spine and extremities). She has studied and utilized BEST (Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique), Brimhall, N.A.E.T. (an allergy elimination technique), physiotherapy modalities for rehabilitation, along with various detoxification and nutritional programs. Dr. Darling’s short-term goal for continuing education is to earn an Advanced Proficiency Rating in the Activator Method Chiropractic Technique; afterwards, she plans to pursue formal instruction in Acupuncture to be eligible for certification by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Sandy Sartain is a nationally certified massage therapist with NCCAOM. She completed the asian body therapy program with 800 hours at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2004. Sandy continued her studies at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and graduated in April 2009 with a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is currently waiting to become licensed in VA to practice acupuncture and herbology.
In her practice she uses intuition to customize the perfect massage for you and incorporates many different types of massage into one session depending on the client's needs and requests. All of her work will have some focus on working with the Chinese meridians and acupuncture points for maximum therapeutic benefits. With the extra focus on meridians and points, blockages in the body will be dispersed on a deep level. The modalities of massage I practice are deep tissue, circulatory, swedish, shiatsu, and tui na. A few of the other modalities I use in my practice are called Gua Sha and cupping. These are ancient Chinese techcniques that have been used for centuries to alleviate muscle tension/pain and to detoxify the body. My goal is to assist my clients on their journey to healing by helping them to attain a deep state of relaxation, which will bring them closer to their most authentic self. Hours:

Sterling Harris is a Certified Hypnotist and NLP Master Practitioner with over twelve years experience.
He has a private hypnosis practice and also an NLP based training & coaching practice. Sterling is dedicated to sharing his skills to give people the tools they need to enjoy life to their fullest potential. He is a member of the Society of Applied Hypnosis, the International Medical & Dental Hypnosis Association, the National Guild of Hypnotists and the International NLP Training Association. Hours:

Edie Griffith is the Office Manager for Seleme Chiropractic Wellness Center. She has been working with Dr. Seleme for the last five years. Her background is working in medical offices as an assistant, secretary and office manager for the past 10 to 15 years.

Dr. Venus Seleme received her B.S. in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Maryland , in 1987, graduated Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas , Texas in 1998. She is certified in Applied Kinesiology, N.A.E.T. Allergy Elimination, Cox Flexion/Distraction Protocol for Disc Herniation, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Brimhall Wellness Therapy. She has been a guest speaker for The College of Energetix Medicine, Physician Grand Rounds at Fairfax Hospital as well as for the Northern Virginia Nurses and Pediatric Lactation Consultants at George Washington University Hospital.
Dr. Darling, a native of Florida, graduated in 1986 from East Carolina University, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, concentrating on family systems and addictions studies. While studying at ECU, she received an academic scholarship from the Army ROTC program and was a commissioned officer upon graduation. After receiving a delay to active duty service from the Army, Dr. Darling furthered her studies in Social Work at the Florida State University School of Social Work, where she graduated with her Masters of Social Work degree in 1987. 
She is a life long resident of Fairfax County and currently resides in Springfield , Virginia with her husband of 27 years. She is also the proud mother of two grown sons and grandmother of one grandson. In her leisure she enjoys music, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.
